About

My name is Caroline and I am the soap maker at Free Range Soaps. My goal is to produce clean, wholesome skin cleaners that engage as many of our senses as possible. Thus soap should be pretty and it should smell really nice. Some of my soaps are creamy with a rich smooth texture and lots of suds; others are moist with just enough granularity to leave your skin looking and feeling radiant. All my soaps are free of parabens, sulfates and preservatives.
A few years ago my husband asked if I thought I could make a shave soap for him since the one he had been using was suddenly off the market. Soon after that my youngest daughter came in with a magnolia blossom and asked me to make a soap that “…smells like my flower.”

These happened to be challenges I couldn’t resist! Besides my daughter has sensitive skin and commercial soaps weren’t really working for her.

I did a lot of research, then I did a lot more research. After that I began experimenting. Pretty soon I was creating my own recipes! I make small batches so that I can control the quality and know that the ingredients I use are the best available.

I also bring a love of art and the artistic into my products. Just because soap is necessary, doesn’t mean it has to be plain!

Free Range Soap is made in small batches using the finest quality ingredients available. In keeping with our name, we get our cows’ milk, our goats’ milk and our honey from our family farm. Nothing is more wholesome or more exciting to work with than something as fresh and natural as an ingredient straight from the farm. Our other ingredients are sourced from quality suppliers and, because we are constantly making and dispersing soap, are never on our shelves for long.
